M108 Self-Propelled Howitzer
The M108 was produced between 1962 and 1963 by GMC as a replacement for the M52 Self-Propelled Howitzer. The M108 was lighter, had a longer maximum range, and a much better designed crew compartment than the M52. The M108 shares the same chassis as our current self-propelled artillery, the M109 155mm Paladin; both of which have been proven to be highly reliable. The M108 was phased out of service when the U.S. Army decided to equip all armored artillery regiments with the superior M109 Paladin.
