Hands on History
Come see and handle some of the most famous weapons in military history. The Texas Military Forces Museum will be opening it’s gun vault up for one night- July 21, 2018 from 6pm to 9 pm. Climb inside a M4A3 Sherman tank, a German Hetzer, WWII and post war era jeeps, a Kiowa and Raven helicopter, US and German halftracks and M113 and more. Over There 1918
On October 7, 1918, the newly created 36th Infantry Division entered combat for the first time as part of the French 4th Army, which was advancing on the left flank of the U.S. 1st Army during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. Over the next 24 days the division would break the German lines near the village of St. Etienne and then pursue the enemy to Aisne River, where the 36th would smash a German bridgehead near Foret Farm.
